2010 so far....

Wow what a year so far.... our baby girl just turn 9 months, next week (July 13) it will be 4 years since we moved to our wonderful home and later this month it will be 8 great years for me and Arliss. Life can't be any better well I guess if this rain would let off and we would see more sun then that would be perfect!

With that said it has been a slow spring.... all the rain has water standing where there never has been. It has slowed the colt training and lessons to a near halt.  But we are slowly getting back on track!  Arliss started back roping this summer on Gus and soon to be Cooper, he is having a blast and so is Gus! In  the training pen we have Troy, Peanut, Rocky, Lex, Deisel, Jade, Bo,  Freckles, Cooper, and  Vaquero.....I think that's it, lol!  We also have a full pastures with our boarders!  We have a few yearlings kickin around being babies and we look forward to working with them next year! And as always I will be adding to the group this fall with a few weanlings....oh speaking of which Bruce (my father) had 2 lovely foals this year both out of El Dorado http://www.blazingcoloursfarm.com/Eldorado.html  . Both are Thoroughbreds one is a little Palomino Filly and the other a buckskin Colt..... might be offered for sale but we are waiting to see!

We have attended 2 shows so far this year....Moose Jaw Spring Hunter/Jumper Show and the Ebon Trophy show. Both shows went well and were a great experience for both horse and rider. For Ashley this was her second year of showing with Bentley and in M/J did good with some ribbons and at Ebon did amazing with many ribbons (some firsts!!) and Reserve champions in a few divisions.   Moose Jaw was Jenna & Jag's first show and they had a great experience and learned alot so much in fact they came out on top at Ebon with a many ribbons, a couple reserves and a championship in the show! Laurie and Rocky also had their first show (a week after her wedding!) and did well with some ribbons  and a overall great first show experience Rocky acted like a 10 yr old instead of a 3 yr old!  So all in all our show season thus far has been great and we are looking forward to the Mid summer Masters at Ebon,  the Youth Tournament in Moose Jaw and to end the year Bridlewood in September.

As for me I am still trying to find a horse for myself...its not an easy task. And plans for the arena are still in the works. Time flies when your havin fun!  On that note Take Care everyone!!!!
